F rom Palmanova one heads in a westerly direction to follow the Napoleonic Route, a direct route of communications which first joins Passariano with its imposing Villa Manin, the magnificent residence of the last Doge of Venice, which is famous particularly for being the thee treaty of Campoformido was signed in 1797 which brought an end to the Venetian Republic. Villa Manin is preserved as a museum, in which one is able to visit the chapel, the stables, the armoury, and splendid salons with particular paintings and furnishings among which is also found Napeoleon’s room where he slept as commander during his European conquests. In the immediate vicinity, one meets up with the city of Codroipo, a long-time crossroads of people, where one could visit the Museo Archeologico (Archaeological Museum), il Museo Civico delle Carrozze d’Epoca (Museum of Historic Coaches) with a collection composed of 44 pieces from the XIX – XX centuries; one can also admire the only models in Italy coming from just about every European country, Canada and Texas, produced by the most notable Italian and foreign artisans of the 19 th century.                                          ^{Some exemplary pieces are those which belonged to princes, kings, and the nobility of Italy, England and Hungary.
