The islands of Anfora and Porto Buso are located at the western extremity of the lagoon of Grado, and are connected to each other by a short promenade. The Island of Porto Buso was used for military defences as the last island of the Hapsburg Empire at the border with the Kingdom of Italy and then after becoming Italian was used by the Guardi di Finanza who controlled the ships in transit towards the mainland.
The Island of Anfora has always been a very small and picturesque village of fishermen, where one can dine at the Trattoria ai Ciodi, very well known throughout the lagoon.
